Learn how to make beads: Beading tools

Another beading tool Beading threads The most common beading threads used in Nigeria are Fishing lines and Tiger tail.     Fishing line comes in different sizes starting from 0.2mm, 0.25mm, 0.30mm, 0.35mm, 0.40mm, 0.45mm, 0.50mm, 0.60mm etc    It is the main type of thread commonly used in stringing beads or knitting beads together (needle works: we will learn this later in our classes) Tiger tail     Tiger tail wire (also simply called tiger tail or tiger-tail ) is a kind of thin wire encased in nylon often used in beaded jewellery , and that is particularly suited to stringing heavy beads and sharp beads, which tend to fray other kinds of thread .

Before we start our lessons, i will mention the basic tools/materials for bead making which are the following: Beading Needles Beading thread such as fishing line, tiger tail etc Cutter Head Pins Crimping Pliers Stoppers Tape rule/Ruler Bead Caps Now let's know these tools and their use: Beading Needles Beading needles look like normal sewing needles except they are more flexible, thin and have much smaller thread holes (eyes). They are maining use for make seed beads patterns. Here are a few tips to thread a needle: 1. Stretch the thread between your hands to flatten the thread and remove stretch and then use a sharp scissor to make a clean angled cut on the end of the thread. 2. Moisten the tip of the thread (usually by licking it). You can also try moistening the eye of the needle. 3. Flatten the tread tip.
