Ankara Padded Auto gele | Ankara Auto gele Tutorials

Ankara Auto gele (padded) by DoliveB

Hello Friends,
I so much believe we are doing well.
Got so many request on how i made the ankara padded autogele (picture attached), so i thought i should share it here
PLEASE READ TO THE END...TRUST ME YOU WILL UNDERSTAND👇

It is detachable & to be tied - that's how my client wanted it.

It's a bit lengthy...please bear with me.

Materials used.
1. Ankara & Chinos
2. Breast pad/Warden (slightly thick)
3. Needle & Thread
4. Iron
5. Sewing Machine

Procedure:

A. The Base: (Normal way we make our auto gele base)
1. Cut your fabric using the dimension 19inches width by 25inches lenght.
2. Make about 6 to 7 pleats & sew (make sure the next pleats cover the thread on the previous)
3. Turn the edges with a piece of fabric.
4. Fold the bottom edge in and sew.

B. The Frame- mine has 12 layers
1. Cut out 12 pieces of fabric using the following dimension
Layer 1 - 3inches width by 22inches
Layer 2 - 3inches width by 24inches
Layer 3 - 3inches width by 25inches
Layer 4 - 3inches width by 26inches
Layer 5 - 3inches width by 27inches
Layer 6 - 3inches width by 28inches
Layer 7 - 3inches width by 30inches
Layer 8 - 3inches width by 31inches
Layer 9 - 3inches width by 32inches
Layer 10 - 3inches width by 32inches
Layer 11 - 3inches width by 34inches
Layer 12 - 3inches width by 36inches
(You will notice i increased the lenght of the next layer by 1 or 2inches...)

2. Cut out your warden the same way but reduce the width by 1inch and the lenght by 4 inches
E.g. Our Layer 1 is 3inches by 22inches
Warden for layer 1 will be 2inches by 18inches (Repeat same procedure for others)

3. Use your hot iron to stick your warden/breast pad to your fabric (Warden has two sides - one side has glue)

4. Fold one side of your layer by half inch, fold the other side by half inch as well then close them and sew (do this for all your layers)

5. Mark the middle of each of your sewn layers

6. Arrange your layers on top of each other and pass your needle & thread through all at the middle, do the same for the sides and other points as desired

7. Attach your handles.
Viola!....you are done...
